PDF Protect — Add a PDF Watermark

Watermark a PDF without uploading it. Customize the text and placement, preview the result and download a separate copy.

About PDF ProtectFeatures & how to use

Add text watermarks to PDF files privately in your browser. Customize font, color, opacity, rotation and page ranges, preview and download without uploads.

What it can do

  • Process one unencrypted PDF at a time, up to 50 MiB and 500 pages, entirely in your browser.
  • Choose Helvetica, Times Roman or Courier, with up to 140 characters of Latin text, color and opacity controls.
  • Rotate, offset or repeat the watermark; select all pages or specific ranges such as 1-3, 5.
  • Preview individual pages and download the same generated PDF. Editing settings clears the old output.
  • Watermarks are not encryption, redaction or sanitization. Existing metadata, attachments and active content may remain; edits can invalidate digital signatures.
  • Adapted from Torito's open-source PDF Protect project under the MIT license.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop a local PDF. Password-protected documents are not supported.
  2. Set the watermark text, font, color, opacity and page selection. Expand Position & repetition for placement controls.
  3. Select Generate preview, then review the selected pages. You can cancel processing at any time.
  4. Download the watermarked copy and review it before sharing. Clear removes the file and output from this tool's memory.
